Review: House on Haunted Hill (1959)

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Genre: Horror
Rated: Unrated
Starring: Vincent Price, Carol Ohmart, Richard Long.

IMDb Description: A millionaire offers ten thousand dollars to 5 people whom agreed to be locked in a large, spooky, rented house overnight with he and his wife.

My Review: I expected a certain type of horror, but got something different. The music helped make it more eerie and scary. Among the five people one of them owns the house and claims it is haunted. The last time he stayed there people died and he was the only one that got out. He and several others mess with the viewer's mind. I was half disapointed at the end. Vincent Price's character is not without faults, but I liked his role and his acting. In fact I do like his part of the ending. It is just my expectation that let me down. I recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a movie that is not super scary and actually has somewhat of an explanation for the ghostly, spooky occurances.
